Borussia Dortmund comfortably advanced into DFB Pokal’s semifinal after defeating VfB Stuttgart 3-1 this midweek, but that result was marred with a unique incident.

During the match, Dortmund fans were seen throwing plenty tennis balls into the pitch, forcing that tie to be halted for a while as players were busy removing those balls.

Apparently those away fans were protesting the hefty ticket price given for them on that game which is 55 Euros, an amount considered expensive for German football standard.

Fortunately, it was a rather peaceful protest as there were no malicious incident occurring aside from giving the players an extra work.

The meaning behind that tennis ball incident is basically a sarcastic view where fans stating that watching football nowadays are similar with exclusive tennis games.

As for the game, Thomas Tuchel’s men won that tie with goals from Marco Reus, Pierre Aubameyang along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
