Having to go through play offs setup before getting that spot in World Cup 2014 and being placed in a tricky group with Germany, Ghana along with USA, put Portugal in a less favorite position ahead of that major tournament.
However, that status doesn’t seem to concern their star man, Cristiano Ronaldo, who even believes that not being considered as one of the favorites gives an advantage for European Selecao since there will be less pressure for them.
Furthermore, Ronaldo also stated his confidence that Portugal can do well in that tournament as they’re planning to take each games at a time, confirming that their opening fixture against Germany will be the toughest one on paper.
The Real Madrid star will definitely try to prove his worth as current FIFA Ballon D’or winner by leading his team in getting positive results on their upcoming WC 2014 campaign and having less pressure can indeed help his mission.
Having already won many things on club level, Ronaldo surely keen on giving something more for his national side, albeit it’s not easy task, seeing there are many strong sides for upcoming World Cup.
Still, that won’t stop the attacker from giving his all and hoping that things will go well for Portugal in international tournament, such as World Cup, which they’re yet to win.
