Coutinho Not Included in Liverpool’s Squad Against Man City
Already returning into Liverpool’s training session again following his failed summer move to Barcelona along with recent international fixtures, Philippe Coutinho apparently won’t be included for his club’s travel to Manchester City.
This news was confirmed by The Reds’ tactician, Jurgen Klopp, who ensured it was nothing to do with any disciplinary reasons, as instead it’s simply a fitness situation.
Explaining to the media during his latest news conference, Klopp stated that after skipping training for quite a while during the last weeks of transfer window, Coutinho will need more session before getting his fitness up to par.
That’w why the former Borussia Dortmund boss opted not to include the Brazilian international for their weekend big match, even as a potential substitute off the bench.
Moreover, the manager also added that it’s a decision which has been shared and agreed with Coutinho himself, so there’s not issue whatsoever regarding Klopp’s decision to leave the attacking midfielder out.
Not only that, the German tactician ensured Liverpool fans that their star midfielder is still very much enjoying to play football and love the club as well.
As many football enthusiasts already acknowledge, Coutinho saga was one of the most talked about rumors in this summer market, notably as the player himself has publicly confirmed his interest in leaving the Reds for Barcelona.
However, until the deadline date, nothing happened as the little Brazilian remain at Anfield for potentially another season or maybe half of season should Barcelona come back with a new offer during the winter transfer market.
