City Remain Top of Premier League Table After Liverpool Held

Manchester City keeping their lead at the top of English Premier League standings as they are leading by a point ahead of Liverpool.

City were in front on Saturday with their 1-0 victory over Bournemouth thanks to Riyad Mahrez’s strike on 55 minutes.

The Reds actually had the chance to regain that top spot should they win on Sunday, but apparently Jurgen Klopp’s side were having difficulties against Everton.

Playing in the Merseyside derby, Liverpool were aiming to snatch another three points over their city rival.

However, The Toffees were not keen on seeing that scenario to happen as they put on a resilient effort.

Both teams were pushing hard in search for goals, but none of their efforts were successful until the final whistle was blown.

A rather disappointing result for The Reds as they already lose their match in hand status over Man City.

This pretty much put Guardiola’s men having an advantage over Klopp’s boys, albeit just by a point.

However, Liverpool’s inconsistent display recently, especially when they are playing at home is certainly a cause of concern for them.

If they can’t improve their form in the remaining fixtures, it could be very difficult for The Reds to stop Man City defending their league title.
