Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur started off their new English Premier League season in the best possible way by picking up all three points on their opening fixtures.
Playing away from home against Huddersfield Town, The Blues bagged that all important with with a convincing 3-0 score line.
Keen on making a positive impression under the new tenure of Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea got themselves ahead after 20 minutes through their combative midfielder, N’Golo Kante’s effort.
Sarri’s men made it 2-0 with a cool taken penalty from summer signing, Jorginho, before Pedro sealed his team’s first league win this season with his fine goal, capitalizing on Eden Hazard’s assist.
A much more tougher battle happened for Spurs as they have to work hard before defeating Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James Park this Saturday.
Jan Vertonghen put Mauricio Pochettino’s men in front, before Joselu equalized soon afterwards, but the first half still ended in Spurs’ favor with Dele Alli netting home his team’s second on 18 minutes.
No more goals were scored afterwards though as Tottenham holding on to their slender lead until the final whistle was blown.
