Chelsea Shocked by Palace, Liverpool Won Derby Against Everton
Runaway English Premier League leader, Chelsea suffered a slight bump in their run as they were surprisingly beaten at home by bottom table, Crystal Palace.
The Blues actually started off really well as they got themselves in front after just five minutes of play, but things suddenly changed four minutes afterwards as Wilfried Zaha made it 1-1.
Momentum was shifting that moment as Palace were able to turn things around within just two minutes after Zaha equalized.
It was Christian Benteke that scored the winning goal in that game as no more goals were scored afterwards, despite all of the goals in that tie were netted after 11 minutes of play.
A disappointing result indeed for Chelsea fans, but so far they are not losing too much sleep as their team still sitting comfortably at the top of standings.
Meanwhile, Liverpool continuing their recent run of good form as Jurgen Klopp’s boys picked up a 3-1 win against their city rival, Everton.
It was an interesting tie indeed with both teams pushing hard for goals since early minutes triggering an exciting half when the Reds took a 2-1 lead already.
Goals from Sadio Mane in the first 45 minutes were enough to put the home side in front since their opponent only managed to pull one back through Matthew Pennington.
After the break, Liverpool finally secured all three points at home when Divock Origi scored his team’s third in that game, ending any kind of fights from their opponent.
In other games, Spurs cut their gap to Chelsea this weekend thanks to second half goals from Eric Dier and Song Heung-Min, which are enough to overcome Burnley.
Meanwhile, Manchester United dropped points again at home as Jose Mourinho’s men found themselves being held into a goalless draw by West Bromwich Albion.
