Chelsea still keeping their unbeaten run in every competition this season, but Maurizio Sarri’s men needed a last minute equalizing goal to secure one point against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Having a much better form, The Blues started things positively as they put out their normal possession based attacking football since kick off, creating opportunities from the get go.
Chelsea’s dominance finally paid off when Antonio Rudiger puts them in front with a lovely header on 21 minutes, which lasted until half time break.
Sarri’s men started off the second half in a similar fashion, but Man United were able to bring more energy and pace in that period, creating several problems on the counter attack.
From a swift counter attacking play which was not cleared properly, United finally got their equalizing goal, slightly against the run of play as Anthony Martial found himself free inside the penalty area before blasting his shot into Chelsea’s goal.
That equalizer lifted Jose Mourinho’s men confidence as they pressed harder and continue to take advantage over their fast counter attacking setup that starting to trouble The Blues’ defense.
Another defensive error from the home side resulted in a goal for the Red Devils as once again Martial got free from just inside the penalty area and scored his second with a lovely curler.
Suddenly losing the match 2-1 despite having more of the possession simply stunned Chelsea as they starting to push even harder in search for that equalizing goal.
After such relentless efforts, the home team finally got themselves back on level terms as Ross Barkley snatched a late goal deep in stoppage time to make it 2-2 and salvaged an important point for Sarri’s side.
