Two London sides, Chelsea and Arsenal successfully keeping their Europa League campaign filled with nothing but victories as they bagged another three points this midweek after beating their opponents.
Maurizio Sarri’s men comfortably see off BATE Borisov with a 3-1 victory despite the Italian tactician making another big rotation compared to their weekend game.
The Blues started their match with the right mind set as they got themselves in front after just two minutes of play through Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s effort.
Within just six minutes later, it was 2-0 already as Loftus-Cheek got his name on the score sheet again, giving more thoughts on Sarri to feature him more in premier league matches.
After a comfortable 2-0 lead in the first 45 minutes, Chelsea still didn’t stop their attacking approach as they eventually netted their third with another Loftus-Cheek goal, who grabbed a surprising hat-trick for his side.
BATE themselves were able to get a consolation goal thanks to Aleksey Rios’ strike on 79 minutes, although it was pretty much a done and dusted contest by that time.
Meanwhile, Gunners also picked up their third win in Europa League, this time overcoming Sporting 1-0 in Portugal.
It was not an easy tie for Arsenal though as they were made to work really hard before eventually snatching all three points through Danny Welbeck on 77 minutes.
