Belgium Keen On Grabbing Third Place Spot Over England

Failing to reach the final stage of World Cup 2018, both Belgium and England still have one more game before finally departing Russia as on Saturday they must battle for that third place spot.

Despite having that disappointment feel still lingering on them following their semifinal defeats, Red Devils along with Three Lions must set their focus on playing again for a different purpose.

Already equaling the achievement of their past 1986 team, Belgium are not keen on surpassing it by reaching the third place position in the World Cup, which will be their best result ever in the tournament.

Although Roberto Martinez’s men really wanted to finally win it all, but there’s nothing they can change anymore, so it’s more essential to set another goal and come home still with something special to share with their fans.

The return of Thomas Meunier certainly strengthened Red Devils’ squad for that third place playoff battle, but it remain to be see whether Martinez will keep using his best players of giving chances for others who haven’t been playing much.

As for Three Lions, head coach Gareth Southgate will be experiencing another test to get his young players motivated again after such devastating defeat from Croatia in the semifinal.

Nevertheless, the current England squad would also want to give something back for the strong support they’ve been enjoying throughout the tournament and reaching the third place in World Cup 2018 won’t be such a bad gift at all.

Extra motivation will also arrive from both teams’ strikers, Romelu Lukaku for Belgium and Three Lions’ Harry Kane, who both are still in the running to win the golden boot, though the latter is currently leading the way.
