Arsenal Opened Premier League With a Thrilling Win Over Leicester
Arsenal started their Premier League campaign with a positive note as they defeated Leicester City 4-3 in a thrilling encounter which certainly brought plenty entertainment for football lovers.
The Gunners’ devotees got their hopes high very early as their signing Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring after just two minutes of play, triggering huge roar at Emirates stadium.
However, that lead was canceled out immediately as three minutes later, Leicester got back on level terms thanks to their Japanese star, Shinji Okazaki who made it 1-1.
Things suddenly turned rather bleak for Arsenal as their opponent were able to snatch a lead when Jamie Vardy scored on 29 minutes to put his side one goal up, creating that sense of concern from the fans.
The first 45 minutes ended in a rather acceptable manner though for the home side as they were able to draw level with a late strike from Danny Welbeck, inviting another potential cracking second period.
It was the visitor though that started off brighter in the next 45 minutes as Vardy completed his double on 56 minutes.
Another tense atmosphere emerged at Emirates stadium as fear of another disappointing start of season looming for Gunners lovers, but Aaron Ramsey’s strike on 83 minutes bright a sigh of relief.
Eventually, a positive outcome arrived for the host as they regained their lead over Leicester with Olivier Giroud proving his goal scoring ability by netting the all important winner five minutes from time.
