Liverpool Pre-Match Report
The omens look good for Liverpool having won their last nine Premier League matches against Bolton. They have also lost just one of their last 11 league games at Anfield and will have been buoyed by their impressive win at Arsenal last week.
Liverpool will assess Glen Johnson’s hamstring injury before making a final decision on him, while in-form striker Luis Suarez is certain to begin the match. Midfielder Raul Meireles has a collarbone injury however and will be unavailable for several weeks whilst skipper Steven Gerrard is still recovering from a groin injury.
Predicted Team: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Adam, Downing, Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll.
Bolton Wanderers Pre-Match Report
Bolton’s last league win at Liverpool was way back in 1954, although they did record victory at Anfield in the League Cup in 2003. Only Manchester City have scored more goals than Bolton in their opening two Premier League games however, following a 4-0 win against QPR and a 3-2 loss to Manchester City.
Tuncay could be set for his first start for the club after bagging a goal mid-week on his debut against Macclesfield Town. Bolton left-back Marcos Alonso is out for at least eight weeks after breaking a bone in his foot in the League cup win against Macclesfield. Gretar Steinsson (foot), Chung-Yong Lee (leg) Sam Ricketts (foot) and Tyrone Mears (leg) all sit the match out through injury whilst the match has also come too soon for Stuart Holden.
Predicted Team: Jaaskelainen, Robinson, Knight, Cahill, Steinsson, Reo-Coker, Muamba, Petrov, Eagles, Klasnic, K Davies.
