Sunderland Vs Manchester United Highlights: Manchester United did not make their best performance of this season in the Premier League but it was just enough for them to squeeze past Sunderland and snatch their 7th consecutive victory when playing in the Stadium of Light.
With 11 minutes having been passed the visiting side almost found the back of the net when Alex Buttner got his way into the penalty box of Sunderland but could only see his shot being saved by Simon Mignolet.
However, it only took a few more minutes for Sir.Alex Ferguson’s team to get ahead following a run down the left flank from Van Persie and just as the former Arsenal player found enough space to fire a shot it was deflected off the legs of Titus Bramble and went right into his own net.
Sunderland tried to get back into the game mostly in the 2nd half when they were playing much better and forced De Gea on making some saves as the Spanish goalkeeper maintained a clean sheet throughout the entire encounter.
Nemanja Vidic also was made to work in the 2nd period of the match but other than that, Sunderland just couldn’t slip a single goal past De Gea as they suffer their 14th defeat in this season.
United remain at the top of the Premier League with 18 points advantage over their nearest rivals Manchester City.
