Singapore 3-1 Thailand highlights: Singapore took a positive first step in achieving their ambition to win this year's AFF Suzuki Cup after picking an important win in the first leg final against Thailand on Wednesday.
The home team took an immediately led in the early 10 minutes after they were awarded a spot kick which Fahrudin Mustafic expertly finished, despite having to take it twice. That goal spurred Singapore on as they pile up the pressure on that first period, but failed to add their tally.
Thailand improved their performance after the break and didn't take look in getting their reward in the 59th minute through Adul Lahso's close range finish. However, two minutes later, the host regained their advantage after a fine effort by Khairul Amri inside the penalty area.
Singapore sealed their victory on the day with a late goal scored by Baihakki Khaizan, who fired in from a close range after a scrimmage at Thailand's penalty area. The two sides will meet again for the second leg in Bangkok to decide everything.
