Guangzhou Evergrande starting off their adventure under Luiz Felipe Scolari's tenure in a positive manner as they defeated Shandong Luneng.
Playing away from home, things was far from easy for Evergrande as they found themselves trailing by a goal on 14 minutes through Liu Binbin's effort.
However, the visitor responded positively as they got back on level terms on 34 minutes thanks to an effort from Zou Zheng.
After the break, both sides continue their push for that winning goal, but it was Evergrande that had the final say when Zhen Long scored on 53 minutes.
Despite having to finish the game with only 10 men, Scolari's men hold on for all three points.
