Manchester United still keeping their hope of finishing the season with a trophy as Jose Mourinho's men made their way into the semifinal round of FA Cup after eliminating Brighton and Hove Albion.
Coming into the game clouded with disappointment and criticism following their Champions League exit, Man United looked struggling early on as they tried hard in breaking down their opponent's defense.
Their relentless efforts were eventually rewarded though as not long before half time break, Romelu Lukaku finally broke the dead lock and put his side one goal up as they head back into the dressing room.
The tie was much more open after the break with Brighton looking to find a way back into that tie.
However, it was United that came out victorious in the end when Nemanja Matic netted home his team's second on 83 minutes and sealed that match with a 2-0 victory.
Certainly a positive result for Mourinho's men as they are still within a shot to win the FA Cup this season, though it won't be easy as they must face Tottenham Hotspur in the upcoming semifinal round.
