Manchester City are set to maintain their recent winning run in Premier League as they don't want to keep pace at the top standings with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are also picking up positive results in recent games. Manuel Pellegrini's men are in a fine mood indeed as they can't seem to stop scoring goals, especially when playing in front of their home fans at Etihad Stadium. Looking at their opponent for this weekend, Man City shouldn't be facing much trouble in bagging maximum points.
However, City should still remember that Cardiff were one of teams that able to defeat Pellegrini's men at the first part of this current season. Although that victory was achieved at the Welsh based side home, but they obviously still have that slight beliefs in snatching something positive against the current second place team. It won't be an easy task, but the away side clearly not keen in becoming another City's prey this Saturday, January 18, 2014.
City eventually coming away with another three points at home as they defeated the newly promoted side in a pretty interesting contest which saw six goals being scored. The host got in front after 14 minutes of play through Edin Dzeko, but that lead didn't last that long as Cardiff got back on level terms with an effort from Craig Noone on 29 minutes. However, Man City regained their lead couple of minutes later, with a goal from Jesus Navas which lasted until half time break.
The home team kept on pushing hard and eventually extending their lead through Yaya Toure on 77 minutes, before Sergio Aguero eventually sealing off all three points with his effort two minutes later. Cardiff themselves did managed to pull another goal back through Frazier Campbell deep in stoppage time, but it doesn't mean much.
