Lorient 3-1 AS Saint-Etienne highlights: Saint-Etienne's attempt in chasing the top three spot in French Ligue 1 suffered a major blow this weekend after they picked up a defeat against Lorient.
After a rather dull first 45 minutes in which both teams failed to score any goals, the home side came out stronger early in the second period as Monnet-Paquet opened the scoring on 51 minutes. Lorient doubled their advantage on 67 minutes through Fabien Robert's effort, but Saint-Etienne managed to pull one back in the 81st minute to make things interesting.
However, it was Lorient that eventually had the final say when in stoppage time they managed to net a third goal from Yann Jouffre. A massive win indeed for the home side as they maintained their spot in seventh place just behind Saint-Etienne.
