Liverpool made their way into the next round of FA Cup in dramatic fashion after eliminating their city rival, Everton this weekend.
Staging the tie at Anfield, The Reds did not get it easy as Jurgen Klopp's men were forced to battle it out until the last minutes.
Nevertheless, the home team did get themselves ahead when James Milner converted a spot kick on 35 minutes.
That lead lasted until half time break, but midway into that second period, Everton were able to get back on level terms, thanks to an effort from Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Both teams continue to push hard for the winner. but it was Liverpool that came away with maximum result when their new January signing, Virgil Van Dijk scored on 84 minutes.
The Dutch international certainly earned a positive note from his new team's fans with that important winning goal in a derby game.
Being labeled as the most expensive defender of all time due to his recent transfer fee, Van Dijk will be keen on proving his footballing qualities.
