Inter Milan's struggle to challenge for fourth place seat in Italian Serie A continue as they were held into a disappointing home draw by Bologna on Saturday.
Staging the tie in front of their fans at San Siro, Inter took the attacking initiative and that positive approach was rewarded as they got in front through Mauro Icardi's effort after just six minutes of play.
Bologna refused to give up easily though as they bounced back and got back on level terms with an effort from Michele Pazienza who equalized on 35 minutes.
The home side regained their lead midway into the second half when Icard completed his brace on 63 minutes.
However, it only took Bologna 10 minutes to get back on level terms as Panagiotis Kone scored the equalizing goal which lasted until the final whistle was blown.
Nerazzurri actually had a shot to take home all three points when they earned a penalty, but Diego Milito failed to convert that kick.
