Bayern Munich picked up an important three points in their latest German Bundesliga fixture after defeating home team Mainz on Friday.
Playing away from home, Bayern found themselves in trouble early on as Mainz pushed forward vigorously straight from kick off.
The home team's positive approach was rewarded as they got themselves in front after just four minutes of play through Jhon Cordoba's effort.
Bayern reacted well though after going down that early as they re-shaped themselves and were able to draw level through Robert Lewandowski four minutes later.
Carlo Ancelotti's men turned things around on the 21st minute when Arjen Robben finished off a cross from Thomas Muller to make it 2-1.
There were not many actions in the second half, but late in that period, Lewandowski showed his prowess again as he netted home his second in that game with a lovely free kick.
That third goal sealed a 3-1 score line for Ancelotti's boys as they temporarily sit top of Bundesliga standings at least until their rival, RB Leipzig played their game.
