Dundee FC picked up a prestigious result on their midweek Scottish Premier League fixture after defeating city rival Dundee United.
The home side made a bright start on that tie as their attacking approach was rewarded after just 14 minutes through Greig Stewart's effort.
However, United were not keen on getting beaten easily as they bounced back and got an equalizing goal from Nadir Ciftci's spot kick.
The home side regained their lead though on 23 minutes, this time thanks to a goal from James McPake.
After the break, Dundee secured all three points from that tie after scoring their third goal through Paul Heffernan on 68 minutes.
