The opening goal arrived through a rather unexpected source as it was the defender John Terry who broke the deadlock with a header at the 20th minute although however this would be one his last movements in the game as he was sent off the pitch due to an injury he picked up some minutes later.

The 2nd half arrived and the momentum of the match was the same, Chelsea had the upper hand in goal-scoring chances but did not manage to capitalize on them and Liverpool made the most of the few chances they got as this was evidenced by Luis Suarez goal at the 73rd minute.

Carragher headed onto a corner that was whipped in and it landed over to Suarez who was unmarked and with a simple header he tied things up 1-1 which would be the final score.
