Cardiff City picked up a massive result on their latest English Premier League fixture as they came out victorious in their Welsh derby against Swansea City at Cardiff City Stadium. Both sides were looking for nothing than three points this weekend as it would be more than just grabbing a win, but that special bragging rights since it involved rivalry between two teams.
Swansea city didn't look shy in putting on their usual attacking display, despite acting as visitor on that encounter as they did made positive approach since kick off. However, a solid display from Cardiff neutralize the away side's aggressive approach as both sides failed to pick up any goals during the first 45 minutes. After the break, several changes made by both managers seemed to give more effect for Cardiff as it was them that broke the dead lock with Steven Caulker's goal on 62 minutes.
Despite Swansea's strong attempt in getting back on level terms, there were no more goals scored in that match as Cardiff got themselves the first win on that Welsh derby. That victory also improved the home side's position as they now leapfrogged their opponent in current standings.
