Wigan Athletic keeping their shot in chasing for that England Championship play offs spot alive as this weekend they grabbed an important away win against one of their rivals, Brighton & Hove Albion. Staging the tie away from home, didn't seem to give any pressure for Wigan as they managed to put on an aggressive display since kick off which was rewarded with an opening goal on 21 minutes from James McArthur's effort. Things got even better for the visitor when Chris McCann doubling their lead on 50 minutes, giving that breathing space for the visitor on their quest for glory.
Brighton refused to give up easily though as they continue to work their way in getting back into that tie, but all they managed were pulling one goal back on 78 minutes from Leonardo Ulloa's attempt. No more goals were scored after that as that tie ended in favor of Wigan that kept on closing in for that play offs spot by the end of this season.
