FC Bayern Munich 6-1 SV Werder Bremen highlights: Current Bundesliga leader Bayern Munich continue their march at the top of standings after demolishing their opponent Werder Bremen on the weekend.
Fresh from a convincing Champions League victory, Bayern players looked hungry for more positive results and after 25 minutes of play their ambition was rewarded with an opening goal scored by Arjen Robben. Four minutes later, Javi Martinez's made it 2-0 with a fine header from inside the penalty area, capitalizing on a free kick. Things got even better for Munich just before the break as Bremen have to play with 10 Men as Sebastian Prodl got send off.
Early in the second half, Theodor Gebre Selassie netted an own goal which made things even more comfortable for the Bavarians. Two minutes later, Mario Gomez extended Bayern's lead with a simply close range tap in. Bremen did managed to pull one consolation goal shortly afterwards when an unmarked Kevin De Bruyne nestled the ball calmly.
However, the home team were not done yet as they added two more goals, one from Frank Ribery on 86 minute and the other scored by Gomez again, just before the final 90.
