Barcelona continue to keep their lead at the top of Spanish La Liga standings, albeit only on goal difference as they grabbed comfortable home victory over Rayo Vallecano. The Catalan side looking really eager to get themselves in form ahead of a difficult midweek Champions League battle and it seems that they're reaching that peak as they already got in front after only two minutes in that tie through Adriano Correia's effort. Argentinian international, Lionel Messi, showing that he is already in top shape as he bagged his side's second on 36 minutes to give Barca a two goals lead going into half time break.
In the second period, El Barca kept on pushing forward as they added four more goals on that period through, Alexis Sanchez on 53 minutes, Pedro's strike three minutes later, Messi's second on 68 minutes along with Neymar adding the sixth goal one minute before the final whistle was blown. That victory will surely give them strong motivation before facing a very difficult Champions League battle against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium this upcoming midweek.
