Atletico Madrid relied once again on their goal scoring machine Falcao with most of the passes trying to find the legs or head of the Colombian forward. He did manage to collect some balls inside the box of Barcelona and his efforts just barely missing the post or the inside of the net.

He was finally rewarded at the 31st minute when he received a swift pass in midfield during a counter-attack and he rushed past Busquets until coming close enough to chip it above Victor Valdes.

Unfortunately for Atletico Madrid, Barcelona responded 5 minutes later with Adrian picking up the ball in the right flank before releasing a stunning shot that curled its way into the further side of the net.

The defensive midfielder of Barcelona Busquets scored the last goal of the 1rst half when he fooled a defender in taking shot until unleashing a shot that went into the roof of the net right before entering the dressing room.

Lionel Messi wrapped things up with 2 goals in this 2nd half. His 1rst one arrived when he found his way past Juanfran until taking a close enough distance for him to fire it into the bottom corner and net his 90th goal of this year.

Diego Godin made a disastrous mistake some moments later when he tried to do a back-heel pass to his teammate but Messi was right there to steal the ball and score once more.
