Italian side, Napoli failed to make their way into the group stage of UEFA Champions League this season after getting eliminated by Spanish side, Athletic Bilbao on midweek.
Being held into a 1-1 draw at home in the first meeting, Napoli were keen on grabbing an away victory over their opponent.
However, Bilbao were also determined in getting themselves through into that knock out stage triggering an intense battle from both sides.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, it was Napoli that got in front first when Marek Hamsik opened the scoring on 47 minutes.
Bilbao immediately pour forward vigorously in search for that equalizing goal which they finally earned after a horrible defensive error allowing Aritz Aduriz an easy close range finish on 61 minutes.
That equalizer puts the home side on a positive mood and eight minutes later another poor defensive display helped Aduriz in completing his brace and turned things around for Bilbao.
The home team finally sealed their passage into the next stage after grabbing a slightly controversial third goal, which was netted by Ibai Gomez on 74 minutes.
