Ghana obtained the bronze medals of the African Cup of Nations 2008. Yet another spectacular game was played yesterday evening in Ghana. The host nation defeated the Ivory Coast with 4-2 and obtained the deserved third spot. The Ivory Coast had an unexpected end of the tournament. Drogba’s side where considered the biggest favorites to win the CAN 2008, by most of the bookmakers. Their group-stage and quarter-finals strengthened proved this expectations. The finish was poor.
The defeat against Egypt changed everything. Ghana started the game with a moral advantage. They are also the host nation and where very determined to win the medals in front of their own crowd.
Muntari opened the score with a free kick golazo. Sanogo replied for The Elephants with a doppietta. This was also the halftime score. Ghana equalized in the 68th minute and Agogo sent them in the lead 10 minutes from time. The final score was set by Dramani in the 84th minute.
