Tottenham host Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter finals, with Harry Redknapp’s team trailing by a seemingly unsurmountable 4-0 deficit.

The home side looked out of their depth in the first leg and were outplayed and overawed in the Bernabeu. Peter Crouch’s sending off severly impacted upon their attacking intent, and Spurs will be without the suspended hitman for the return fixture; Roman Pavyluchenko or Jermain Defoe will deputise. Spurs got a bit of a confidence boost with a 3-2 win at home to Stoke on Saturday, which shortened the gap on fourth placed Manchester City.

Los Blancos followed up their 4-0 win over Spurs with a 3-0 win away to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, and Jose Mourinho’s men seem to be hitting form at the right time of the season. Progression against Spurs looks almost guaranteed and will set up a probable semi-final against Spanish rivals Barcelona.

Tottenham will aim to win the match with the tie out of reach; however my Champions League betting tip is a 2-1 win to Madrid.
