Although Real Madrid currently sit top of La Liga, seven points clear of nearest rivals Barcelona, the Spanish outfit have had to deal with the serious disappointment of Champions League elimination this week.

Their semi-final penalty defeat to Bayern Munich on Wednesday sent the club crashing out of the competition, and they will be keen to secure a victory against Sevilla this weekend.

Sevilla, meanwhile, are chasing European football of their own and currently sit in ninth spot, just six points behind Malaga in fourth.

Madrid are overwhelming favourites to secure the victory at 1/4 with BetVictor in this round of Spanish Primera betting, while a draw can be backed at 11/2 with StanJames.

It is extremely difficult to make a case for a Sevilla win, and the odds of 12/1 with bet365 are not high enough to seriously consider a wager.

My particular tip is a 3-1 win for Madrid, with odds of 17/2 at sportingbet. Madrid have been suspect in defence in recent games, and I have a feeling that Sevilla might open the scoring early in the tie.

My advice would be to stick clear of the obvious first goalscorer markets and back Alvaro Negredo to bag for the first goal of the match for the away side, at odds of 11/1 with Paddy Power.
