Casillas: Man Utd Schmeichel is my idol

Real madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas said Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel was the greatest goalkeeper ever. Casillas listed his top ten keepers of all time this week, with the Dane coming out as No1. “This list has no particular order, but if I had my choice I would always have as number one Peter Schmeichel,” said Casillas. “I first saw him on TV when I was a child and thought, ‘This man is invincible. I was 11 years old and Schmeichel was playing for Denmark in the Euros of 1992. He was great. Ever since then, I knew I wanted to be like him became he was my idol. I followed him closely, watching his games whenever I had the chance. I wanted to learn from him.”
