Sports betting players will have all eyes on the midfield for Sunday’s clash between Arsenal and Liverpool as the Gunners’ Cesc Fabregas and the Reds’ Steven Gerrard will look to lead their teams to victory. Can a young Arsenal team stop their troubles away from home?
Sunday, December 13
Kick-Off: 11:00 AM ET
The Gunners are coming off a 1-0 loss at Olympiakos in the Champions League, although they weren’t playing a full-strength lineup. Arsenal’s sports betting chances hinges on their ability to finish in front of goal, and that’s something they’ve had problems with since Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendter got hurt. This leaves Andrei Arvashin and Cesc Fabregas as their main attacking options, although Theo Walcott could be called upon as Tomas Rosicky finds himself injured again.
The Reds crashed out of the Champions League with a 2-1 home loss to Fiorentina, but at least they got Fernando Torres back on the pitch for 25 minutes. The Spanish striker has missed a month due to an abdominal injury, and Steven Gerrard will be happy to have him back. However, he may not play that much if manager Rafa Benitez chooses to bring him along slowly as Torres is crucial to Liverpool’s sports betting odds, for this year and beyond.
Sports Betting Odds and Prediction
Liverpool is a +125 favorite at home, while Arsenal comes in at +268, and a draw is rated at +245. Arsenal has won three and drawn five of their last 10 against Liverpool, and last year’s 4-4 draw at Anfield may have had the best individual performance of the year as Arvashin scored all four of Arsenal’s goals. This should be an open game, which should favor Arsenal, but the young Gunners have struggled away from the Emirates Stadium, losing big road games at Manchester City and Manchester United, and we don’t think they’ll be able to handle the crowd at Anfield.
